Dr. Stephanie Lister Grey, the daughter of two veterinarians from Prince Edward Island, Canada, has been involved in veterinary medicine pretty much from her beginnings. From an early start, she accompanied her parents on both farm calls and after-hours small animal emergencies. She also worked in clinics throughout high school, where she received an early grounding in what it means to be a good veterinarian by taking care of both pets and their owners.
After graduating from Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI in 2003, Dr. Lister completed internships in Indiana and Toronto, Canada before entering a surgical residency and Master’s program at Kansas State University, which she completed in 2008. Dr. Lister became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009. Since finishing her residency, she has worked at surgery referral hospitals in Richmond, Virginia, New York state, and most recently, Tacoma, Washington before moving to New Hampshire with her husband and two small children (along with 1 dog and 3 cats).
Dr. Lister joined the staff at the Veterinary Emergency, Critical Care and Referral Center of New Hampshire and Southern New Hampshire Veterinary Referral Hospital in early 2017. She devotes herself to patient care as well as client and veterinarian communications, along with surgical excellence. She enjoys all aspects of surgery – from the challenging fracture repair, to the routine cruciate surgery, to the complex cancer surgery, and she always provides an in-depth discussion of treatment options for clients.
When not working, Dr. Lister and her husband enjoy exploring the area with their two small children and dog, Scruffy (the cats stay at home). Most of her leisure time is focused on kid-friendly options, such as the children’s museum and wandering our beautiful coastline.
