After being referred by Meredith Emergency Vet, I brought my dog to be seen a number of times for his amputation, chemo and follow ups. The staff was always kind, responsive and helpful.
Bella Kitty had first met everyone after her rough experience from her double knee operation, they treated her like their own. WE brought her back again when we discoverd she knocked the pin out or her knee and they assisted with getting the surgeon to take care of her right away, and they operated again, and she is home doing great. Thank you for treating her like part of your family!
Was referred to Dr Rallings by our vet. Everyone was very professional and kept us apprised of what tests they would be doing and what the possible costs would be. Dr. Rallings thoroughly explained his findings.
VECC did a wonderful job taking care of our pup. We brought him there at 3 am during our vacation because he was vomiting and restless (normally he sleeps like a baby, but he could not sit still). We were seen right away, and after some X-rays, we learned that he had a sand impaction filling his small intestine.

The vet explained that they wanted to keep him overnight so they could give him some medicine and some IV fluid to try to move the sand out of his G.I. system. They called us the next morning and let us know that we could pick him up and that he was doing well. When we picked him up, he was full of energy and back to his old self.

The staff was great throughout the process and the DVM indulged our many, many questions.

One thing I want to share: We went back and forth on whether to do X-rays because our dog’s symptoms weren’t serious at the time, and emergency X-rays can be expensive. We are so glad we ended up getting the imaging because, as it turns out, sand impactions can be very serious and sometimes fatal in dogs. The lesson I learned from this is that despite the cost, the peace of mind of knowing what’s going on is worth it.
Dr. Rollings spent a lot of time getting Oliver’s history and explained everything very thoroughly. I felt heard and left with relief, knowledge, and a direction to pursue further what is going on with him. Crystal went above and beyond in researching and getting the referral we needed. Great experience. Thank you!! Hoping I never have need for another internal medicine consult, but if I do, I will not hesitate to return to VECC.
I just brought my dog Peanut Butter in and we had a great experience. Everyone working was so kind and informative, the staff made a very stressful situation much easier. PB was seen immediately upon walking in and was in and out quickly for what she needed done. She got great care at a very reasonable price for an emergency vet trip. I would recommend bringing your pet here if you need emergency care.
Had a great experience today. We have a 5 year old Great Dane. After his morning meal, he was acting strangely, wouldn’t sit or lay down. And extra drooling. We rushed him here, and the staff was awesome. Very friendly, handled our giant with great care. We got the help we needed, and peace of mind. Will definitely be coming back here if something happens again. Thanks so much!!!!
Our first experience was at VECC located at 15 Piscataqua Dr, Newington, NH 03801

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire staff at VECC for the truly exceptional care my dog Ace received during our urgent visit on July 4th, 2025. We were told over the phone to expect a long wait of over two hours, but when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to be taken in right away.

Ace was understandably shaken and anxious after being attacked by another dog. The staff immediately made us and Ace feel welcome and safe. Ace is a large dog (about 80 lbs) and while he is not aggressive, he does have anxiety in new environments, especially with meeting new people but even more so in small unescapable rooms or closed spaces. The team initially recommended sedation to safely shave and examine his wounds, which we completely understood. While sedation is always a concern for us, especially given Ace’s nervousness and history, we trusted their judgment.

To our great relief, the staff used a perfectly fitting, comfortable muzzle that put Ace at ease. They took him to the back and quickly realized he was calm enough without sedation after all. Their decision to forgo unnecessary sedation showed exceptional compassion, skill, and understanding of animal behavior. Even at his regular vet, Ace usually needs sedation for routine appointments, so this was a huge and happy surprise for us.

What also amazed us was the cost. The entire emergency visit was less than half the price of a regular vet appointment elsewhere. Even though the owner of the attacking dog covered the bill, we were stunned by the fairness and accessibility of their pricing. I would have gladly paid double for the level of understanding of animal behavior, exceptional skill, care, attention, and kindness Ace received. I really can't say enough good things here. It truly was an amazing experience!

We had just lost our beloved cat two weeks prior at a different emergency hospital where we had a heartbreaking and expensive experience, and we weren't treated with much compassion at all, so this visit to VECC meant even more to us. VECC gave us back our peace of mind, and we left feeling cared for, respected, and truly grateful.

If I could, I would bring all my pets to VECC for every visit — routine or emergency. I cannot recommend them enough. They are compassionate, skilled, efficient, and incredibly reasonable in cost. Thank you to everyone who helped Ace that night — you made all the difference for Ace and our family.
Thank you so much,
Heather, Amo, and of course our dog, Ace 🐾
