Dr. Deering completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2006. Following his graduation he worked for 4 years as a scientist in pharmaceutical and drug discovery in the Boston-Cambridge, MA area. During his free time he also volunteered at animal shelters. With his interest and love for animals he pursued his veterinary education at Tufts University Cumming’s School of Veterinary Medicine, from which he graduated in 2014. He completed a small animal internship at the New England Animal Medical Center in Massachusetts, and completed his residency in cardiology at the Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Dr. Deering completed his board-certification in July of 2019.
His areas of greatest interest in cardiology include treatment of congestive heart failure, diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias, interventional procedures, and echocardiographic studies.
Outside of work, Dr. Deering enjoys running, hiking, going to the gym, reading, board games, and watching movies. He is also interested in developing new hobbies with the freedom completion of his residency has brought.
